THE BRIEF
This self-initiated project features illustrations that celebrate the unique and charming architectural heritage of Vancouver houses.
THE SOLUTION
This poster series is an exercise in simplifying each architectural style into its iconic form while also retaining the character of each specific home. Each image is based on an actual home in Vancouver. These homes are chosen not only for being great examples of the architectural styles they represent, but also for their historical significance. For example, some homes of historical note inlcude: the Early Vernacular home that was featured in the original “It” mini-series, the iconic “Vancouver Special,” or the “Dorothies,” so named for their occupants, who were coincidentally both named Dorothy. This series is a work in progress.
